Girlhouse Films
Girlhouse Films is the creative subsidiary of Twoshotmedia.
Started in 2005, Girlhouse Films was created to facilitate the more creative, self-commissioned projects that we wanted to make.
At this stage Girlhouse Films is funded entirely by Twoshotmedia, but our “baby” is scheduled for self-sufficiency in mid-2007.
There are currently three projects on the Girlhouse slate.
Handbag
The first is Handbag, a feature-length documentary about the friendship between gay men and straight women, as told through the eyes of life-long fag hag / handbag, Monica Davidson.
We are currently shooting, with a planned completion date of August 2006.
Handbag will be released in January 2007.
The search for fatherhood
Our second slated film is the as-yet-unnamed project about the search for fatherhood.
Steve Byrne was born in ultra-conservative Catholic Ireland in 1977, with no man’s name on his birth certificate. The ramifications of this were untold.
Almost thirty years on, and with three step-children of his own, Steve sets out to discover what exactly makes a man a father.
Sleeping Water
Finally, our third project is the suspense movie Sleeping Water, a feature written by Gabiann Marin.
Sleeping Water is set in the 1970s, and tells the story of Jilly, a little girl who has recently moved to a tiny bayside town with her Mum.
When Jilly befriends a mysterious local girl, and finds two dead bodies, the consequences are shattering.
